Container Delivery

Booking Delivery:
Booking for delivery of your container with transporter will be within 24 hrs of order and delivery can be arranged from 1-2 days after. If you are looking for a specific time for the unit to be delivered make sure you give us a time window for delivery as delays can occur such as heavy port traffic for loading, traffic jams, extra time on previous sites or breakdowns. We will often have the transport driver to contact the customer as they leave the yard with your container to provide an Estimated Time of Arrival.

Space Required:
40ft containers require approx. 110ft of strait flat area for the truck and trailer to deliver a 40ft container and for a 20ft container the same on a semi about 85ft or 60ft for roll back delivery. All trees and overhead obstacles must be at least 13'6" high to clear the container height and wide access for enough radius around turns. Gates and fences must be 9ft wide or more to allow turn in and access. We recommend at least 2ft clearance on sides for driver to access trailer controls and safely work between trailer and obstacles.

Other Considerations:
Ground prep for containers is fairly simple, a good level site for the delivery. Shipping containers used as storage will beneifit from having good drainage and can be placed directly on the ground but we recommend the container placed on pressure treated lumber or cinder blocks. This will keep the container from wicking moisture from the ground and promote airflow under the container to help with reducing condensation.

Container Unloading:
Understand transport drivers cannot guarantee and are not responsibile for exact placement locations or placing containers on elevated surfaces, transport trailers by nature roll containers off or shake the container and then it slides off a trailer. Some transport companies have very talented drivers and they can hit a mark within an inch but this is not always the case so be aware if you require the container to be elevated or placed in a very specific or tight area or limited access area you the customer will be responsibile for final placement. The maxium height a container can be placed is about 16 inches.

Notice: The delivery trucks can only go on paved surfaces and hard packed ground since delivery trucks can be in excess of 30,000lbs, deliveries on grass or off road if carefully planned and in very dry conditions, the vehicles CANNOT work under overhead power cables or telephone lines.
If the ground your container is being delivered on is not flat or hard packed or can be problematic in wet weather then please tell your supplier as any problems with delivery can incur waiting or abortive charges to the customer if the delivery cannot be completed due to inaccurate site information.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND TRANSPORT DRIVER HAS FINAL DESCRITION AS TO SITE VIABILITY AND SAFETY OF EQUIPMENT AND DELIVERY. THE SIZES AND ADVICE OUTLINED ABOVE IS A GENERAL IDEA REGARDING TRANSPORT. TO PREVENT EXTRA CHARGES ALWAYS CHECK WITH US OR YOUR SUPPLIER, IF YOU ARE NOT SURE PLEASE ARRANGE A SITE VISIT FIRST AND WE CAN ASSESS WHETHER THE VEHICLE WILL BE ABLE TO DELIVER THE UNIT AND HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO MANEUVER SAFELY.

Changes in delivery location or door orientation may incur extra charges, all changes in delivery locations must be in advance of driver leaving the yard. Door orientation must be before container is loaded on truck..
